PERMANENT MARKER ON CANVAS

In the Lichen series, I focus on the simple, twisted lichen design element which features prominently in my Marginalia series. Each lichen is created from one long, uninterrupted line which – after swirling around the canvas – arrives back to where it started from. The main portion of the series are the eight 6″ x 8″ panels (which I have also combined digitally for a comparison view). I have dubbed the ninth piece “the Mondolichen,” and it combines the colors of the eight panels on a much larger 20″ x 16″ canvas.
