Moonblock was created in June 2015 from a fascination with shapes and limitations. After obsessing over how great Wim Crouwel’s New Alphabet is for about a year, Moonblock is my first legitimate response. Crouwel was challenged to create a typeface with major limitations, and I wanted to embrace that idea with a similar challenge. Hopefully the results are somewhat enjoyable.
